Tyuyamunite is one of the radioactive minerals in my collection that the Border Patrols sensors detected when I came down from Alaska a couple of years ago. Very sensitive equipment. I like it for its bright yellow color. The minute tabular crystals and only be appreciated with 20x or more. It is from Blue Peak Mine, Poison Canyon Area, Grants District, Cibola County, New Mexico and measures 7/8" x 3/4" (2.22cm x 1.90cm) (Author: Jim Prentiss)
