Once on the glacier (Mer de Glace) it is several kilometres walk to some more ladders, to get off the glacier and up the path to the Courvercle Hut below the Aiguille du Moine. The glacier is ’dry’ this low down at this time of year so is mostly easy to walk on - you can see the objective dangers (crevasses) and avoid them.
